Feugussox, in reply to a question by Mr McArthur. stated tlio Government hope to be iiblu to obtain compensation for traders who had incurred losses through the troubles in Samoa. The Washington Conference had done nothing inconsistent with the statement made to the delegates at the recent Imperial Conference in 1887.
