TE AROHA DOMAIN BOARD.

An Obstructing Member.—A special meeting of the Board was held 011 Saturday, Bth inst., to consider a letter received from a youth who had been prohibited from using the baths, for alleged misconduct, and asking for an inquiry, and also to consider the question or'erecting a library building in the Domain.—The Chairman (Mr Gavin) opened tenders for contract to construct a reservoir to No 0 bath, so that the bath might bo refilled quicker after being clcaned out. —Mr Ilott. I object to this work being let, as plans have not yet been submitted for the approval of the members. Chairman. Then the matter of urgency is nothing, formality being more imperative with you. Mr Ilott. I certainly will not consent to tenders being accepted.—Chairman. Very well, and that will give yon another opportunity to be an obstruction to the Board. I have had several trips in to Te Aroha, to hasten its completion, and 1 thought it only a matter of courtesy to open the tenders at this meeting, believing the work wasentircly in my hands.—Mr Ahier. So it was, Mr Chairman, and I dou't think we should delay the business, because Mr Ilott obstructs, but should proceed and ignore his obstruction. The tenders were returned unaccepted.--An enquiry was held in the case of alleged misconduct, and after a thorough and exhaustive examination of all the eviil-juce obtainable, the following resolution was proposed by Mr Ahier, seconded by Mr Lipsey, and carried unanimously, "That the evidence against the accussed was insufficient, and that the injunction preventing liiin from using tho. baths be removed,'' at the same stating that the caretaker, Stanley, was fully justified in the action he had taken in the matter.

The Lihuahv Building : Further and More Unreason aki.u Ojvstbuction.—Mr Ahier moved that tenders be called for the erection of a library building, and be considered at the next monthly meeting of the Board, seconded by Mr Lipsey.—Mr Ilott: How would the money be raised for the work ?—Chairman : I think we understood at the last meeting that we should require a Dank overdraft for the works which are in hand, and £100 would cover them including this one ; the whole would be paid off in the ensuing summer months.—Mr Ilott: Has Mr Wilson been asked if he will make one to become personally responsible ?—Mr Lipsey: I am sure he would not offer any objection, as he is a large-hearted man, and takes too much interest in the place to throw any obstacles in the way. In fact at last meeting, Mr Wilson said he would feel full confidence in supporting anything the majority of the Board undertook.—Mr Ilott: I would bo willing to sign security to borrow to complete the works in hand, but will not for the library building.—The Chairman : I have no doubt that the necessary funds can be obtained with less than tho signatures of all tho members. But I regret that we should need to try, as I have always understood that after a full discussion upon any subject the minority gave way, and co-operated with the majority to bring tho matter to a successful issue.—Mr Ilott: I movo as an amendment that tenders be not called as other works are more necessary and the funds are not available. —Mr Ahier : That amendment is manufactured just for publication, there being 110 seconder, as all our works are completed or in the course of completion.—Mr Lipsoy: Yes, and it gives a very unfair inference, viz., that some proposed works are being neglected.—On tho resolution being put, the Chairman, Messrs Lipsoy and Ahier voted for, and Mr Ilott against it. It was therefore carried. The Board then rose.
