Messrs Mitchelsou and Furgns, left town this morning for Micl-Otago, via Inveroargill, also accompanied by Messrs Allen, Pish, Fitchctt, Barren, E. McKenzie. M.H.Rs., and Messrs Blair and Asher, of the Public Works Department. CHUISTCHURCH, Wednesday. At Horrellsville, ou Monday, tlie wife of Mr Ring was found dead from heart disease. The wife of Mr Beatie, of Coalgate, died suddenly on the 23th November of supposed congestion of the lungs. It having been rumoured there were other causes for her death, the body has been exhumed for examination. INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. Thomas Menzies, of Duualister Station, shot himself through the head. The Supreme Court sessions open on lUh, There are two eases of attempted murd?r, one of manslaughter, three of arson, and three of larceny.
