HAMILTON ROAD BOARD.
Thk usual monthly meeting of this Board was held on Saturday. Present: Messrs Jones (.chairman), Atkinson, Livingstone, Way and Manmier. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. —A letter was read from Mr Win. Castleton, with reference to the oigs at large on the load, near Stokes' Gully, and asking the 15:>ard to take steps to compel the owner to keep the pigs in proper bounds.— Letter received from the Auckland Political Financial Reform Association.—Letter from the Public Works Office re Bill to amend the Public Works Act.—Tho Clerk of the Newcastle Road Board wrote re the proposed works at Partington's hill, also asking the Board to take steps to stop the spread of gorse on the roads, passing Glover's farm on the old Whatawhata road. —Resolved, "That the Hamilton Road Board take thn necessary steps to go on with the work as soon as the Newcastle Road Board pay their share of the money already spent by the Hamilton Road Board on cuttings done on Partington's hill."—Resolved, " That the plan nnd specifications of the proposed work at Partington's hill, prepared by Mr Thus. Redmond, remain in the office of the Board, and not to be removed, but any memoer of the Newcastle Road Board may be allowed to inspect them."—Resolved, "That the necessary steps be taken to abate the nuisance of the spread of gorse on the road passing Glover's farm, complained of by the Newcastle Road Board."
