(BY ELECTRIC TKLEOKAPII.—COPYRIGHT.) Sydney, November 29. Mr G. R. Dibbs, member for the Murrum bid gee, has given notice of motion, " That tlie. Financial Statement be referred back to the Colonial Treasurer, ia order that a just statement of the financial position of the country may be laid before Parliament." The Legislative Council has negatived on the voices a motion in favour of the federation of the Australian colonies. Mkusoimine, November 29. A remarkable scene occurred last night iii the Legislative Assembly. Sir Bryan U'Loughlan moved the resolution of which he had given notice : " That Victoria should support the other colonies relative to the appointments of Governors." The proposal was negatived on division by r>9 to 3, and when the numbers were announced the members of the House and the neciipints of the galleries rose in a body and sang the National Anthem. November 30. In reply to letters from exhibitors, Sir James Mcßain, President of the Inhibition Commission, states that he is unable at present to say when the exhibition is likely to be closed. The Commissioners are desirous of keeping it open till the end of February, but many exhibitors are ansious to proceed to the Paris Exhibition at the end of January, when the exhibits from the German Court and the British loan pictures will be despatched from here.
