WAIKATO HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
Thk animal mooting of the members of the above Society was held in the Waikato Times Building at 11 o'clock yesterday. Present: Mr L. O'Nuill President (in the chair), and Messrs F. J. von Stnrmar, J. P.irr, J. Forrest. R. F. Sandes, Sharp, -T. Knox, P. G. S.uides, T. Wells, G. Edgeciiinbo, W. M. H.-iy. Before tlio minutes were read Mr T. Wells moved that in Rule No. (i the word February lie erased nnd the word November substituted.—Seconded by Mr 11. F. Sondes and carried. TCxphnsks.— A long discussion here ensued, relative to the expenses of the shows in the several districts, and the pour support ivcsivc.l from districts hi which the. show is not held, the n.-tcomeof which was the following resolutions: —Mr Hay moved that the managffimiiit of each A>,,x bo left wholly to the local committee of the district in which the show is to be held with an instruction thut the expenses oe curtailed as much as possible with a view to establishing ii fund fur the purchase of a marquee in which future shows may be held.— Seconded by Mr Forrest an>! carried.—Mr Wells moved that the lne.il committee of each district in which a show is held be responsible for any deficiency arising in respect of the same.—Seconded by Mr Forrest and carried. Jt'liGiNts.—Mr Wells moved that Rule (j, for the guidance of judges, be amended bv the addition after the word " exhibition " of the following:—" In judging apple* and pears the judges shall allow 3 points for excellence of keeping varieties and 2 points for perfection at time of exhibition."— Seconded by Mr T. G. Sandes and carrel. Votee i>t thanks to the various officers for the past year terminated the meeting.
