WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
. + Tick usual monthly meeting of the Waitoa Koad Hoard took place last Saturday. Present: Messrs .T. Horrell (in the chair), H. Burnett and J. Turnbull. Mr Ohepmell, the Chairman, was unable to be present and it was remarked that he had never been absent from a Road Board meeting before lince the first Board meeting was held in the district on the 7th day of August, IS7o. CoituKfU'O.s'DKNCß. —Among the correspondence wad a letter from Mr McCormick of the Lower Waitoa ro repairs required on tlie Ngutumanga road. A lettar from Mr James Taylor asking leave to put a gate on Morrinsville-Maungakawa road. The consideration of both these letters was deferred till next Board meeting.—-A letter from the O'crk, Piako County Council, asking if the JJujjrcji would ba willing to undertako the expenditure of the county rate on native lands in the Waitoa riding to improve part of the Piako-Cambrldge road through Maungakawa.—The Board resolved to undertake the expenditure of said (ijf.es amounting to £46 Ss (id as desired. Rkport.—The Engineer reported that T. Stanley had finished his contract on the road iu wis of Te Aroha ; that J. Orr lias his contrast <||) the main road near Morrinsville in a forward atate- that O. McCabe has his contract on the malii k;h4 at Annandale in a forward state ; that considerable improvements have been made on part of the Riuhffjond road.
