(my telegraph—OWN correspondent.) Auckland, Wednesday. A petition, signed by 21,S unemployed workmen, has been sent to Hon MrMitchelson representing that rhe discontinuance of relief works will throw them on the Charitable Aid Board. Dr, Stockwell, City Health Officer, is seriously ill, and in a critical condition. Fiancis Bonjarnin, a coloured man, has been committed for trial on a charge of attempting to pass a counterfeit sovereijn.
