All the Cheshire salt works have been provisionally acquired by a Loudon syndicate, represented by Fowler and Co., solicitors, Westmiuster, and negotiations are proceeding to purchase the less extensive works in Worcestershire and Durham. The capital is provisionally fixed at threo millinns sterling, and the vendors take one-third iu shares. The

capital has been already subscribed in advance. In the allotment of shares those

having interest in salt works have the preference. It. is expected common salt will rise in price from 2s Gd to 10s per ton.
