♦ Cambridge v. Paterangi-
Tub above teams met at Cambridge on Saturday to try which was the better fur the Association Cup. As will be seen by the scores. Paterangi won on Mm first innings by 11 runs, and was certainly the most flukey win that we have seen for some time, for soven of their team have the "duck egg " attached to their names. The victory is certainly due to Case, who in his usual free style ran up 24 in a few minutes. In their second innings Cambridge got well set, and although it closed for 107, they could, had they been careful, have added more t'-> that number ; as it was some of them tried to get out in order to put Paterangi in. Wo do not approve of that stylo of play, and think it would have looked much better had they made the score as large as possible. Several very smart bits of fielding were done, notably a catch by Alexander, which was quite phenomenal. The Me?srs Bowden, of Otahuhu, very kindly acted as umpires.
