TENNIS.
The Cambridge Lawn Tennis Tournament was finished on Friday, when Messrs Macara and S. Chambers played the final sets. Mr Macara had to give his opponent 15 and two 30's, but he nevertheless, won the two first sets 6—4 and (J—s. Chambers then pulled himself together and won a love set; thus winning by 15 games to 12. On Saturday croquet was introduced upon the lawn for the first time, and several very spirited games were indulged in. This, we think, is a step in the right direction, as ladies often attend on Saturdays who do not play tennis, and now they will be able to go in for the milder game. The Cambridge Club have received a challenge to send a team to Hamilton on the 9th inst., to have a friendly game, and there is every probability that they will do io. It is not definitely arranged whether ladies will take part in the match.
