ST. PETER'S, CAMBRIDGE.

A VERY successful concert and dramatic entertainment was given in the Public Hall, Cambridge, on Friday, in behalf of St. Peter's Catholic Church. The first part of the programme consisted of a concert: Piano solo, "Gurry Owen," Mi<s Jessie Wilson; trlee. "See Our Oars," choir; song, " The Abbott," Mr H. Wilson ; song, "Ora Pro NomV Mrs Chambers; glee, "The Wreath," choir ; song, " The Bridge." Mrs 0. Garland ; song, " Comrades," Mr C. Hunter; glae, " Farewell," choir. Some of the performers suffered a little from nervousness, otherwise, everything went we'll, the two ladies' songs being the best. Part 2 was a drama entitled, " Time tries All," and was well put upon the stage, the dramatis penwnie being as follows:—Mr Leoson, a successful merchant, Mr Laurence Cussen; Matthew Bates, his junior partner, Mr T. Hartly ; Mr Clinton, an exquisite, Mr Hyatt; Hon Angustns Collunder Yawn, Clinton's friend, Mr K Ward ; Tommy Tact, a clerk, Mr E. Cussen; John, footman, Mr J. MeVe.igh; Laura Leeson, Mr Lesson's daughter, Mis< Jessie Gray ; Fanny Fact, Laura's maid, Miss M. Cussen. Mis<s Gray as Laura Lsesnn did putt full justice ; it is, however, a must difficult one, and is a character that will never '• go dmvn" with thj public, as it Ins nothing laughable about it, and indeed it is pathetic throughout. Nereitheleis it is one that exactly suited her. Miss Cussen a most charming Fanny, and she and Mr E. Cussen created roars of lauzhter with their love scenes ; as did also Mr Ward as the. Hop. Yawn, by his yawn*. Mr Liwrence Cussen a3 old Mr Leeson was immense, both in his get np and also in his acting, and like Miss Grey, had a part that exactly fitted hire. The other characters were fairly represented. After the performance the hall was cleared and dancing commenced. We have not given the plot of the play as it will be requested in iJamilton on Friday, with a slight altoration in the caste.
