WAIKATO FARMERS , ASSOCIATION.
Tire adjourned meeting of the above Association was held at Delaney's Hotel, Ohaupn, after Mr Buekland's sale on Tuesday. There were present: Messrs Gane (in the chair), Fisher, Watson, Scott, Allen, Hutch inson, Way, Kusabs, Lake, liwen, Cowley, Edwards, Edgecumbe, Dinsdale, and a number of others. Mr Gane, in opening the meeting, read the rules which had been drawn up by the committee appointed for that purpose, as follows :— 1. The business of this Association shall be oonducted by a chairman, secretary, treasurer, and committee of six to be elected annually, four to form a quorum. 2. The Association shall meet every second Tuesday of each month at. 3. The annual .subscription shall be 2s fid, payable in advance on the Ist day of November in each year. 4. The secretary to receive all entrance fees and subscriptions, and his receipt shall lie sufficient discharge. 5. Any member not paying his subscription within three months shall cease to bs a member, l>. The accounts of the Association shall lee audited by two members. 7. At all general meetings twelve shall form a quorum. S. AH resolutions passed shall be conclusive and binding on all members whether present or not, provided that the meeting be held in conformity with the rules. 9. No rule to be altered or new rule made without notice being given at a previous meeting. 10. That it shall bo the business of this Association to procure information as to the best markets for the sale, or purchase, of produce, manures, seeds, and implements, and that the Association shall in no way act as agents in the sale or purchase of the said articles. 11. The order of business at each meeting shall be—lst. Minuses of previous meeting read and confirmed. 2nd. Correspondence. 3rd. Essay or address. 4th. Arrangement of business of next meeting. After some discussion, these rules were adopted, on the motion of Mr H. Kusabs, seconded by Mr R. Watson, with tho following alterations :—Rule No. 1 was altered to read : "1. The business of this Association shall be conducted by a chairman who may also act as treasurer, and a committee of six to be elected annually, four to form a quorum." A new rule, No. 2, was inserted between Nos. 1 and 2, " That one of the committee may be honorary secretary to the Association, but the committee may appoint a paid secretary who shall not be a member of the committee." At the end of present rule No 2 the word " Ohaupo " was inserted. In rule No. 10, after the word " implements," the words " aud other farmer's requisites " were added. In rule No. 11, the 3rd clause, " Essay or address," was struck out. Mr John Fisher moved that Mr Edward Lake be appointed Chairman and Treasurer to the Association.—Seconded by Mr H. Kusabs and carried unanimously. The following gentlemen were then elected a committee in accordance with rule 1 :—Messrs J. Hutchinson, To Awamutu and Rangiaohia ; J. H. Scott, I'ateraneri; 1 ,, . W. Lang, Tnhikaramea ; John Fisher, Pukerimu; R. Salmon, Hamilton and Tamahere; and G, Clark, Cambridge. A vote of thanks to the Chairman closed the meeting.
