Tuk nine shearers arrested for having taken part in tho riots in the Wsigga district wore found guilty, and sentenced from one year to three years. Bkisijaxe, Octeber 20. A curious interview has taken place between Sir Thos. Mollwraith, Premier, and Lady Muagrave. The latter assured the Premier that Sir Anthony Masgrave had entertained no ill-feeling against him, and her ladyship refuted the charges of parsimony which had so often been levelled at the late Governor. She produced tho books of Sir A. Musgrave, which showed that his expenses exceeded his salary by £3000, the deficiency being met by her private purse. Memiocrnh, October 20. So far as ascertained, the deficiency of Butler, iJcptity- Registrar of Mines, amounts to £26.000. George Syine, who shot dead his motliei-in-law, Mrs Clifford, during a quarrel at Lilydale, has been sentenced to death.
