TE KUITI.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Guard Such.—Universal regret was expressed up here when the news arrived of the unfortunate accident which happened to Guard Such, and subscription lists were at once started on his behalf. Mr H. Burnand is taking an active interest in the collection. Brick-making.—Now that the fine weather has again set in, operations have been recommenced at the brick kilns at the tunnel, from which large numbers are being regularly turned out.
The Road to thk Tunnel.— The road from here to the tunnel is now in good order, the late fine weather having dried it up splendidly and carting which, for some time has been almost impossible, has again been started.
