The .Emperor William strongly echoed the allusions of King Humbert to the alliance between Germany and Italy. Ho said that Germany had won her unity by the sword. IT.e said there was an analogy in the history of the two nations which implied a perpetual agreement between them. He proposed the toast of the valiant Italian army, and concluded by expressing his thanks for the splendid reception he had received. Pie decorated Signor Crispi with the Order of the Black Eagle, remarking that no one had ever deserved it more. The Emperor Williani and King Humbert held a review of the Italian army, consisting of 33,000 men. Great enthusiasm was shown on the occassion by the people.
