Store cattle of all kinds in steady demand at full values, particularly fresh-conditioned grown cattle. Kat cattle, in average nipplv, maintained their late values—His to bSsihe. 1001b. Averages for drafts of steers ranged from £5 5s to £7 14s. Pat sheep, in moderate number, were better worth, and wethers ranged from 14s (id to 17s lid; dry ewes, 1-ls to His each. Fat lambs in good inquiry; prices ranged from 10s to lls each. Eat calves were also in request at full values, Pigs scarcely represented. Mksshs Hunthii and Nolan's Wkeki.y RkI'OIIT-— Grain, seeds, horse feed, etc.— There has been an upward tendency in value and steady demand. We quote maizo 2s lOd per bushel ; feed oats, 2s lid ; Tartarian, 2s lid to 3s per bushel; oaten chaff, t'_ 10s per ton ; bran, ill per ton. Horses : There has been increased vitality in the market, and there remained an unsatisfied demand for horses of all descriptions, if of a good stamp, at increased values. Quite an average number wore submitted by auction at the Durham Yards, on Friday. There was good competition throughout, end but few lots for which vendors would not accept current, rates remained unsold. Wool, hides, and skina : Average quantities were disposed of at the Durham Yards on Tuesday. Competition was steady. We quote, ox hides from 3:\d to I.VI per lb; cow, 2fd to 2'fd ; calfa'cins, 4d to4jd per ll>; sheepskins, 2s 4d toos lid each ; pelts, 4d to Is ">-1 each. C ittle : A large number of all descriptions have been brought forward and a brisk demand has existed for fat and store stock. Dairy cows were but slow of sale, but little or no alteration m values. There was but a moderate muster of dairy and store stock at Newmarket on Tuesday. Competition for dairy cows was dull, but good stores were in demand. The first cattle fair of the season was held at Papakura, on Wednesday. Tl.c yards were well filled with both dairy and store stock, and prices in advance of the corresponding fair of List year showed an advance of from os to 10s on young stetrs and from 10s to 20s on grown steers, and from 5s to 10s per head on dry female stock. Sheep were in short supply and advanced in value. Wethers sold at from 14s to 18s 3d; ewes, 12s to 14s; lambs, 0s to 14s (id each. Pigs: Scarce. Grown porkers and well bred baconers in brisk demand.
