(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.— COPYRIGHT.) Brisbane, September 8. Lord Kxutsforu has cabled to the Governor to release the prisoner over whom the difficulty with the Ministry arose, Sydney, September 8. Mr J. P. Howe, a Protectionist, has been elected for Redferu, by a majority of 852 votes. September 10. Intelligence has been received here that a vessel, supposed to be the Derby Park, a barque of 1,292 tons, bound from Paget Sound to this port, has been wrecked on Penryhn Island. The captain and bis wife were drowned, but the remainder of those on board were rescued and taken to Tahiti. Arrived : Tarawera.
