MINING.

The Tor.— Tin's mine has been purchased by a Melbourne syndicate upon tlie following terms : —The price is £15,000, of which £13,000 is to be paid-up shares and £2000 cash. £500 of this amount was forwarded through the Bank of New Zealand <»i Thursday, and the balance of £1500 is to be paid when the mine is floated, which is expected to bo done in a very short time. The syndicate undertake to expend £30 per week in working and prospecting the ground. The samples of ore sent to the exhibition are admitted by authorities to be very superior, and are attracting great attention, The principal owners are Messrs Dobson, Prazer. Wallace, Roberts, and Hanmer

Montezuma, Te Aroha.— It is currently reported that this mine will probably bo sold for the sum of £5000 cash, to a Melbourne syndicate also. A month is allowed for the completion of the purchase.
