(DV TULEGBAI'K—I'RKSS ASSOCIATION"). WELLINGTON, Friday. , William Ac. new, of Otago, was this afternoon bound over to keep the peace for two months on a charge of grossly insulting the Hon. Geo. Fisher. The wife of the accuspd was recently similarly dealt with for annoying the Premier. . . A young man named Richard Cheeseman, described as a chemist, was this afternoon committed for trial on a charge of forging and uttering a cheque, purporting.to be signed by T. G. Graliam, employee of Kempthorne Prosser and Co. The accused had been an employee of the firm on commission in Queensland. A fireman named Wiley was sentenced to three months' imprisonment for assaulting Captain Barlow of the steamer Tainui. The Premier left for New Plymouth by train this morning, and returns next week. WOODVILLE, Friday. At the Police Court to-day three village settlers, named John Jenkins, James Parker and William Stiggins, were committed tor trial for killing and taking away the meat of a cow belonging to H. R, Holder.
