Domain Board. —The monthly meeting of the Domain Board was held in the office on Saturday the Ist inst. —The Chairman stated that ha had accepted the tender of Messrs Campbell and Cook, amount £1)9 14s, for lawn extension, theirs being the lowest tender. A discussion took place aa to whether the Board had the power to subsidise a medical man.—Mr Aliier regretted that the matter had not heen brought forward prior to Dr. Wright leasing the district.—The Chairman said that the Waiorungomai Accident Relief Club would probably shortly be placed on a better footing and might offer some inducement to a medical practitioner, so it would be wise to defer further consideration. The engineer was instructed to gi"e an estimate as to what would be the cost of improvements to No. 4 bath, with power to authorise the work, there being evory probability that the revenue will materially increase during the summer months. The takings from the baths for the month were £20, and the balance at the bank after allowing for present accounts £G8 3s lid. Land Tknurk. —A meeting of leaseholders was held in the Public Hall on Monday, the 3rd inst., convened by the chairman of the Town Board, for the purpose of considering proposals for altering the present titles to township properties.— The Chairman explained v, hat action tho Board had taken, having written to Mr Lipsey, and reading a reply from him, in which he expressed his willingness to assist the residents in procuring a lease in perpetuity.—Mr Mills proposed and Mr Mackay seconded, that the chairman write to the Nativo Minister, asking whether there is any Act in existence giving a trustee power to bind those for whom he is acting after they come of age.—Carried.— It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Pavitt, that the Town Board continue their efforts to secure a better tenure. —Mr Whitehouse moved that the sincere thanks of the meeting be conveyed to Mr Lipsey for his evident desire to meet the wishes of the residents, and for his willingness to assist them in procuring a more satisfactory tenure.—Seconded by Mr Ilott and carried. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting. New Town Board.—The nomination for the election of Commissioners will be received on Tuesday next, tho election to take place on the following Monday. Medical Attendance.—The want of a medical practitioner for this district is becoming the subject of remark. Salvation Army.—We have a detachment of the Salvation Army visiting us, but as yet they have not shown any desire to attempt tho gigantic task of attacking this stronghold of Satan.
