THE WHITE PASHA
[by ELECTRIC TKLKUKAI'II. — CnPYKICiKT. ] StTAKIJi, September A TELHiiiUM has arrived here with news that the Mahdi's forces arc paralysed by the receipt of a messsage from the White Pasha requesting the Mahdi to abandon Khartoum. The message intimated that Khartoum is a British possession, that the natives are not subject to Kgyptian rule, and that slavery would be suppressed. At the date of the trader's departure the White Pasha was only a few days' march from the city.
