THE MINERS' STRIKE.
[By Electric Telegram.— Cofyright| Sydney, September 1. The miners' funds only amount to £5000, which is about sufficient only to pay 12s per head. Adelaide, September 1. The Gas Company lias sent to England for coal, and has increased the price of gas. Melbourne, September 3. One local foundry discharged 200 men on Saturday, and a number of others and also a number of factories, will discharge their hands during the week. Gkeymodth, Sunday. The coal miners at Brunnerton, suspecting that the Union Company's s.s. Pukaki is coming here to load coal for Melbourne, are resolved, if that is so, to refuse to load her. They are much interested in the Newcastle strike, but it is generally believed they will not refuse to load other than Australian boats.
