Thompson, Minister of Justice in the Government of the Dominion, asserts that the United States Government are required to give two years' notice before they can suspend the existing treaty. London, September 2. Sir L. Saekville West, British Minister at Washington, has been created a Knight of the Grand Cross, and the other members of the Fisheries Commission, Knights of St. Michael and St. George.
