Subsidy.—Among the inward correspondence was :—A memo from ; the Pro-perty-tax Commissioner, reporting having forwarded a voucher to the Treasury for the payment of £31 ss, balance of subsidy. Petitions.—A petition from eleven residents on Block IX, suburbs of Te Aroha, earnestly desiring the Board to do something to improve the road in the neighbourhood of their sections.—A letter from six residents at Waihou, wishing the Board to make a better outfall for the water in the road side drain between the saleyard and the hotel. The Bodrd decided to get the outfall ditch cleaned out as far as the road and the eDgineer was instructed to inspect and report on the matter referred to in the petition. The Eugineer was also instructed to inspect and report on the road which the Government has recently laid off from the bridge on Taylor's road to the main road between the Waihou township and Te Aroha, on which residents in the neighbourhood have asked the Board to make improvements. Wants of Ratepayers.—The Board it is thought, will easily manage to spend the fat thing rate when collected, considering the number of applications that are being made for road works, both by those who are ratepayers and a number who are not ratepayers. It is said that some of the ratepayers seem to be of opinion that if they pay their rate by the end of March, it will be quite time enough. They should bear in mind that it would not be advisable for the Board to defer road making till the end of March. Accounts,—Accounts amounting to £39 5s were passed for payment.
