Ohaupo v. Hamilton.
IBy Wingsian. I A third match between these two club.3 was played on Sydney Square, Hamilton, on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in a, win for Hamilton by four points to one. Hamilton has had decidedly the best of the three matches, having won two and drawn one, and having scored 9 points to their opponents' 4. As both teams have been published before it is unnecessary to insert them again. Messrs A. Kusabs and Gribble captained, and Messrs T. G. Sandes and W. Odium umpired for Ohaupoand Hamilton respectively, and Mr I). Mclntyre .acted as referee, and all gave entire satisfaction, the game being a very quiet one throughout, the Ohaupo men taking their
beating very good nattiredly. Hamilton kicked off, and very soon the ball was taken into Obaupo's 25, Gribble and Sage making short spurts. After about five minutes play Gribble ran in, and secured the first try for Hamilton. W. Hammond took tho kick at goal, but failed to increase thu score. Ohaupo seemed to liven up for a little after this, and as the ball was very slippery the Hamilton backs »ould not do any effective passing, and Ohaupo managed tu keep their line clear, and although they were forced a couple of times Hamilton did not score again until just before half-time, when Mnlgan, who had been playing a very unBelfish game, secured the second try almost at the corner flag. Cassidy took the kick, but owing to the wind blowing across the ground, failed tm increase the score. After the kick half-time was called, and all the players were wet through by a cold heavy shower that had just fallen. After a short interval Ohaupo kicked off; and by good following up rushed the ball in to Hamilton territory for a short time, but the Hamilton forwards were not to be denied, and they gradually worked the ball back again, and Glarkin came through a scrum on Ohaupo's line, and secured Hamilton's third try. The umpires were divided as to allowing the try, but on being appealed to the referee allowed tho try, and W. Hammond took the kick at goal, but failed to increase the score. After the kick out the ball was kept on Ohaupo's side of half way, for some time, and Mayes, by a good follow up, smothered Marshall's kick, and got a fourth try for Hamilton, but the kick at goal was again a failure. After this the game was in favour of Ohaupo, and Parkes soon secured a try for Ohaupo, but the kick at goal did not increase the score. From this out Hamilton played on the defensive, and prevented Ohaupo obtaining any further score, and time was called with the ball in mid field. For the visitors Goble played the best game, while Aitken, Semmens, A. and G. Kusabs, Cowley, and Marshall wore prominent. For Hamilton Mayes was conspicuous among the forwards, while Hammond, Clarkin, and Reid, were doing good work, both wingmen did good service in spoiling the opposing hacks, and Gribble von Stunner, and Mulgan played well be-
hind the scrum. The Ohaiipo team, before the match, visited Mr Newiick's studio, and were photographed. We understand that it is the intention of the Hamilton team to have their photos taken shortly.
