[BY TELEGRAPH—OWN COIIUKSPONDENT. I Auckland, Friday. A jiketing of village settlers at Takahue, passed resolutions thanking the members of Parliament who defended the Village Settlement Scheme, and affirming its success. At the meeting of the Board of Education Mr Cooper moved the following resolution : " That a return be laid before the Board showing (Ist) which of the city and suburban schools have since the beginning of this year been closed on schooldays; (2nd) the particular days on which each of such schools have been closed ; (3rd) the reason why, and by whose authority, such schools were so closed ; (4th) what on each of such days was the actual attendance at each of such schools." The motion was unanimously carried.
