BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORHESFONDENT,] Wellington, Wednesday. Several influential native chiefs waited on the Premisr, last nijjht, and although they expressed themselves as fairly well satisfied with the Government policy, the natives expressed a wish that the Bills be withdrawn till after they had been considered by a large representative native meetimjto be held during tlio recess. The Premier replied that the Bills had gone too tar thia •session to admit of their withdrawal, but intimated that they could of course ba amended next session on the lines of any practical suggestion resulting from the meeting in question.
