CHURCH RETRENCHMENT.

TO THK EDITOR. Sir,—l fully endorse the letter of "Wesleyan Sy 111 p:\thiser." It is a pity the trustees in the state of our finance before we are bankrupt, do not insist on the expenses being cut down. The minister ought to accept £100 per annum, and be thankful these very hard times, as he has furnished house, horse, horse feed, all travelling expenses, stationery, and £7 per year for each child besides his stipend. I think it is nothing but an imposition those monthly socials tii pay for furnishing the drawing room. There is one thing I wish to remind the trustees of, that they are answerable for the overdraft, not the minister or congregation.—Yours truly, Wkslkyan.
