(UY TEI.KUIt.VrH—OWN CORRKSrONIIEXT.) Wki.MNGTON, Monday. ARTHUR OWKN'S PETITION. Mr HamliK complained to the House on Friday afternoon that amongst the papers hiitl on the table in connection will) Owen's petition ami referring to the Mokaii lease, there was missing the original deed of lease of the property signed by Mere Kura which he said would have a most important bearing on the case. Ihe document in question belongs to JNeville Septimus Walker and is in tho possession of tho Registrar of the Supreme Court at Wanganui. A copy of it however, is in the hands of the Native Affairs Committe. Mr Hamlin meed that the paper should be produced and shown to members even it it had to remain in possession of the officers of the House. JLno motion created considerable discussion, but it was eventually decided that tho Speaker take the necessary steps to obtain possession of tho paper to be inspected by the House. RAISING THE SCHOOL AGE. Mr Tanner, replying to Mr Taylor's qncry, whether a member should be allowed to deliver a speech that has already been made in the House, remanded the member for Sydenham, that he was quite mistaken, as he (Mr Tanner) had not before spoken on the subject. As to the remark of some other member about the matter having been threshed out already, Mr lanner maintained that tho question of raising the school njjo to seven had not yet boon discussed by the House. THE RENATA WILL CASE. Great interest was displayed this mornin" in the judgment given in tho Renata will case. A largo number of people wore present in Court including several ladies, members of Parliament and Tress reporterii. _____^_^_^
