In tbo Magistrate's Court this evening, 29 Chinese, arrested for playing fan-tan. were discharged, owing to the faihiro of the ovidenee to prove the accused were engaged in play at the time when the police made the raid. A charge against the occupier of the house for krepn? a gaining establishment was adjourned.
Counsel on behalf of Ctiry, the French escapee, applied for a writ of habeas c.irpus before Mr Justice Richmond; •Judgment was reserved.
