TE KUITI.
4 Seizure of Grog by the Police. Constable Beriuman, assisted by Constable Kavanagh, of Tauranga, made a seizure here last week at the two hop beer kireweries. Constable Kavanagh came here disguised as a navvy, and before the week was out succeeded in finding out two cases of illicit trade in intoxicants. Constable Berriman went down to Te Awamutu, swore the information, and got search warrants. In Mr Innes's brewery he found a case of bottled porter, and in Mr Perry's brewery two gallons of whisky, a quantity of bottied ale, and ona case bottled stout. Constable Kavanagh had to make g»od use of his time, as he was recognised by some, but not before he obtained sufficient information in these two cases to warrant information being laid. It is not known yet when the cases will be tried.
