[BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORMWPONnENT. J Auckland, Friday. Meetings o£ creditors in the private estates of the members of the land syndicate were called for to-day, but all lapsed for want of a quorum. Some recriminations were indulged in, Mr Ivey claiming that as so much mud had been thrown at the Bank, the examination should be as public as possible. A meeting of creditors in the joint estate was held this afternoon, but nothing new was elicited. The facts were all stated in the sworn statements made before the Assignee. The French convicts, Cury and Gasparini, were taken to Wellington by the Rotomahana yesterday in a very mysterious manner. They were discharged in .respect of the offence committed at New Caledonia, ■and no fresh warrant has been issued. It is supposed here that the present action has been taken at the instance of the French Consul nt Wellington, but the police will give no information.
