Judge Richmond congratulated the Grand Jury upon the lightness of the calendar, which did not contain any serious cases, being nearly all for larceny. True bills were found against Robert McCarry, larceny, George Kwarttwo charges, Francis Alexander McMinn, Richard O'Donnell, and Nellie Hurley, larceny ; Henry Puller, receiving stolen property; James Madden, absconding bankrupt; and Pomeroy. alias Collins, forgery, two charges. No bill was found against John Keefe for larceny. Richard McCarry was sentenced to two years for larceny. At tho Supreme Court to-day, Henry Fuller pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, and V. A. McMinn to larceny. Both were remanded pending the Probationers' report. Nellie Hawley, larceny from person, was sentenced to 12 months. O'Donnell, breaking and entering, received two years. Christchubch, Monday. William Fleming, for arson, was sentenced to 12 months' hard labour. George Alexander and William Anderson, burglary, two years' hard labour each. John Nimonon burglary, three years' penal servitude. Charles Jalnes Escott, embezzlement, from the Lyttelton Times Company, two years probation, to refund the amount embezzled (£110), and to pay the amount of the prosecution (£3l). John Cockhead, for house-breaking, sontenco deferred to Wednesday. True bills were found in all the cases on the calendar.
