(BY TELEGRAM.—MBStt ASSOCIATION.) Wellington , , Monday. It is expected that the Sherard Osbornc will complete mending the single cable to-day. The sea is smooth at present, and should it remain so, ordinary communication will be restored this evening. The body of tho man Chaffrey, drowned last week at Tenui, has been recovered this morning. An important Maori case, brought on by Vircne Donnelly, involving several thousand pounds, was commenced in the Supreme Court this morning.
