BAD LANGUAGE.

TO THE ISDITOK. Sir,—On Saturday last I went to Sydney Square to see the football match played between Ohaupo and Hamilton,. and I was surprised to hear the amount of bad language used by the players. The match reminded me of the one played by Hamilton at Huntly last year, but I am glad to say, was not quite so bad. The unii ires appealed to the captains to stop tli« bad language, but it was no use as the men would not obey their skippers. The example set by the Hamilton captain, in jeering at his opponents, when In. , had the upper hand, is one that I hope none of his team will follow. I understand the Huntly team are coming to play here next Saturday, and I hope that the language will be more gentlemanly than on last Saturday.—l am, yours etc., Old Footballer, Hamilton, Jnne 25tli, ISSS.
