This was a judgment summons and was adjourned till next court day, in order to allow defendant an opportunity of paving part of the debt. JODGMEST SUMMOXSKS. — Gibson v. Tanner. —£11 19s. Innes v. Tanner, £01 13s lid. Mr Greshain for plaintiff, and Mr Hay for defendants. Owing to the absence of an important witness these cases stand adjourned to next Court day.

(Before tho R.M. and two Native Assessors.) Ranuimoeakau v. Hkhi Kokako, Te Pukk and Others; Ngarama v. Hkhi , Kokako, Tk Pukk and Others.—Mr Greshain for plaintiffs, Mr Hay for defendants. These native cases which have been before the court since 15th February, and have occupied four days in tho hearing, were at last brought to a close. The claim was for wrongful detention of cittle and horses which had been seized under a so-called warrant issued out of a self-constituted Maori court, the defendant, Hemi Kokako, claiming to bo a magistrate in Maonland, with plenary powers of administration. Judgment (in which the R.jM. and both the native assessors concurred) was for tho plaintilfs. In the first case all the animals to bo given up to plaintiff, or in default £5 15s, costs, £4 lis (id. In the second case, a like judgment for £0, with costs, £5 Is. These judgments should serve to show our Maori friends that we can only recognise l jueen Victoria's courts, and not those of King Tawliiao. (Before the 11. M.) C. T. RICKKT V. MllS BEARSLEY AXI) Beahsi.ey v. Rickkt. —Mr Hay for llickit, and Mr Gresham for Bearsloy. These cases of assault have commenced and stand adjourned till to-morrow.
