THE HAMILTON BOROUGH.
TO THE EDITOR. Silt, —I beg to call the attention of tho ratepayers of Hamilton, to the fact that the Borough Councillors have committed] an illegal act, and for which they ought t() be held personally responsible, in that they have been expending money in gravelling the walk and grounds of the West Hamilton School. I would therefore suggest that a vigilance committee bo appointed by the ratepayers to take this and other illegal, expenditures into consideration, also the salary paid the town clerk and the foreman of works, both of whom I consider, are overpaid. I should also like to know when twenty cubic feot of gravel were declared a cubic yard, which is about the quantity We have got ill the Hamilton streets and saleyards for sometime. Hoping some more able pen than iriiue would take tile matter up, and that the above committee be appointed without delay,—l remain, yours etc., A Ratepayer.
