Fitzgerald, solicictor, funeral was largely attended by the Supreme Court judges, nearly the whole bar, several members of both Houses, city councillors, and a very large number of citizens including members of boating clubs, and jminent members of Civil service. J Hon, 11. Oliver left for Sydney via Melbourne tj-day, to attend the Australian conference on the Chinese question. The charge of sheep stealing preferred against Mr Richard Smith was concluded this afternoon and was dismissed, as it was shown the alleged sheep stolen were his own property, though bearing the same earmark as those losf from Terawhiti. .
