Mr Dibbs has resigned the leadership of the Opposition. In view of the recent attempted invasion of the Parliament chambers by an antiChinese demonstration, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly has communicated with the other colonies to ascertain what steps would be taken by them under similar circumstances.
The Procedure rules were introduced into the Legislative Assembly last night. The rules relating to contempt are very stringent, and are aimed at preventing scenes in thi chamber.
