The same paper ox presses the opinion that ( ienriaiiy is seeking to secure Russia's financial ruin so that she will lie compelled to light. r l he paper also states that there is nothing in the recent skirmish in Afghanistan to create alarm, but Kngland must become reconciled to the idea that Russia is advancing on Herat. Paris, May 23 The Gaulois, in an article on the European situation, asserts that England's only vulnerable point is the weakness of her colonies, and that only through them can she be attacked. Berlin, May 23. The French Government have quietly acquiesced in the German insistence that all foreigners crossing the Franco-German frontier should be provided with passports.
