PRESS JUNIORS V. HAMILTON WEST SCHOOL.
The return football match between the Press juniors and the Hamilton West School Football Club resulted in a victory for the school by two points to nil. Although the printers were forced three times the school were unable to score in the first spell. In the second spell the. game was very evenly contested; The school were forced three times within ten minutes, and the printers narrowly escaped scoring twice, but after awhile the school having three more players than tho Press began to tell its tale, and towards the end of the spell Harris secured the first try for the school, but the kick at goal was a failure. The second try was secured by P. Murray about a minute before time was called. It was right behind the posts, but the kick was again a failure. The printers dribbled much better than the school boys, but the school boys collared much better than the printers, and several of the school sprinters were not even tackled before they came to the fullback. Por the school, Parr, Murray, Harris, Oldham and Edgecumbe played the best; J. Tidd collared well, and E. Johnson, Hunt and T. Tidd drib- I bled well for the printer#. Messrs W. Hammond and It. McKenzie umpired for the printers and school, respectively, and <t. Keep was referee, and all gave general satisfaction.

Tho weather was fine, and the day was generally observed as a holiday. Svdnk.v, May 24. Splendid weather was enjoyed for the holiday. The volunteers paraded for tile review, and were inspected by His Excellency the Governor. The number of men on parade was not so large as last year.
