LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.
[BY TKLEGHANI— OWN COKkKSI'ONDKNT.] Auc:k r,AN' 1), Wednesday. A man named R. Brighain was charged at the Police Court to-day with driving furiously along the Manukau road, and in juring a trap belonging to Mr J. 15. Russell. The defendant was evidently out on a drunken sprse, and drove into Russell's trap wilfully, lie was lined £4 and costs, .or 11 days, the money to be paid at once. A young man named Alfred .Tones was charged with obstructing the footpath in Rarangahape Road, and lined Is and costs. The defendant wai one of a number of young fellows who nightly obstruct the pavements and " sauced " the police.
Great preparations are being made for the football match to-morrow. If the weather is fine the attendance is expected to be the largest over yet seen in Auckland.
