Tub weather was glorious oil Saturday, one of those balmy sunshiny days to which New Zealand owes the fame of her splendid climate. Then; was not, however, a large attendance of the public on the Glaudolands course; there being probably 11,J j more than five hundred prosent. Thermal, attendance is due nc doubt to the time of the year when there are no regular public holidays, and to the absence of the usual excursion trains. Still the meeting was pronounced by all as an eminently successful one ; the running in all the events was honest and straight, and, with the slight, exception of a mishap to Larrakin in the Hurdle Race, who fell without inflicting injury oil himself or rider, the races passed off without accident or disturbance. The course was in capital order, and the Club s officials performed their several functions well and zealously, to everbody's satisfaction. The totalizator was presided over by Messrs Adams and Andiews of Auckland, and it is estimated that £-<00 was put through the machine in the course of the day. The Hamilton Volunteer Hand was present, and made the affair more enjoyable with its musical selections. It was dark before the meeting terminated, and a finishing touch was given by Mr G. J. W. Barton's buggy coming to grief on the road. It appears that the horse had been harnessed up to the buggy without the blinkers, and as Mr Barton was about to start 011 his return home, the horse bolted.
