A MUSEUM FOR WAIKATO.

As appeal will shortly be made to all holders of Maori curios, asking for the loan or gift of such articles. Wo are pleased to note that the effort is being started at Cambridge, and it is intended, should the movement meet with public approval, to place a few cases in the Public Library of the town, where they will be under the care of the library committee. Any one contributing to the loan collection will be asked to lend etirios for at least twelve months, and all exhibits should be accompanied by a description of their history. We have been requested to give publicity to the movement, as it is known that the object has many wellwishers, who have in their possession curios, etc., with great historical value, which exhibited in such a museum, would give the general public, ideas of the early Maori quite unobtainable by simple reading; it is therefore hoped that all who have relics, curios, etc., descriptive of the Maori, will communicate as early as possible with the Chairman of the Cambridge Library Committee, who will be pleased to give all information on the subject. A grand dramatic entertainment is under rehearsal, its object being to raise funds to purchase necessary cases, and great success is anticipated. For our part, we heartily congratulate our Cambridge friends iu making the effort, and wish them every success, as such a museum iu a few years, will be not only a boon to the town, but to tlic whole of Waikato.
