It is propose'! inter alia that a tax of Id in the ;. £ shall be placed on the unimproved' ' value of land of upwards of £500 in value, \d in the £, on the capital reserves and deposits of bunks, mortgage and loan companies, and financial institutions of every kind. The Rabbit Conference to-day resolved to ask the Government to set apart an island off the coast, and also a tract of country inland, for the purpose of testing the efficiency of the rabbit exterminator schemes ot M.
