SPORTING.
Waikato Jockey Club. SETTLING DAY. The committee of management of the Waikiitii Jockey Club met at Bach's Criterion Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday evening, to settle up with the winners at the race mei'tintc lately held on the Redwood course. Several of the owners were present, and after the stakes had been duly jmid over and the business concluded, champagne became the order of the day, and a very convivial evening was passed. We are informed that the Club has a nest-e«g of upwards of £50, of which £28 7s was obtained from the totalisator.
