HAMILTON PUBLIC LIBRARY.
An extraordinary meeting of the committee of the Hamilton Public Library was held on Tuesday evening last in Mr Parr's office, for the purpose of considering the resignation of Mr W. A. Graham as chairman. The following letter from Mr Graham enbodying his resignation was read :—Hamilton March 20th, 1888. The " Secretary of Hamilton Public Library. Dear Sir,—Not wishing in any way to predjudicethe position of the library or any one connected with it, I consider it best to tender you my resignation of Chairmainship of Committee, at the same time I am of opinion that I had ceased to be chairman from the date of the public meeting. However, kindly inform the members of thelate committee that I hope matters will be put straight again shortly. Yours truly, William A. Graham. " It was resolved that Mr Graham's resignation 1)3 accepted, and that he be thanked for his services in the past. Mr A. Scott was then elected to the vacant position. The committee draw attention to the low standing of the library, financially and earnestly hope that members will pay in their subscriptions as they fall due.
