NEWCASTLE ROAD BOARD.
A special meeting of the Newcastle Road Board was hold at the office of the Board on Monday, the 19th inst., at 2 o'clock. Present: Messrs Corboy (chairman), Bycroft and Corbett. The business was to receive tenders for several works, as advertised, the following being accepted, being the lowest—viz. :—No. 1 contract, »ld Whatawhata-Hamilton road : Messrs Salmon Bros, road formation, 2s ltd per chain ; earth cutting, . r 4d per cubic yard ; one set of pipes, £2; erecting culvert and material, £1 17s. No. 2 contract, Shepherd's road: Messrs Salmon Bros., road formation, 3s per chain ; earth cutting, ill per cubic yard ; erecting culvert and material, £1 ; decking bridge and material, £3 8-s (id. No. 3 contract, Knnrpp's road : Messrs Abbott and Graham, 3s lid per chain. No. 4 contract, clearing titree one chain wido from Linimer's gate to Rice's farm : W. W. Henderson, 101 per chain. A few small accounts were passed for payment, and the Board rose.
