It is stated that the Assistant Railway Commissioners are not toboappointed until tho ottice of Chief Commissioner has been filled, which will not be for some time yet. The German citizens resident in Wellington and district, held a special funeral service, commemorative of the death of the Emperor Wilhelm. A general meeting of the first conference of fcha Industrial Protection Association took place to.-day. Mr Shepherd, of Auckland, was unanimously elected President, and Mr J. Dransfield, of Wellington, vicePresident.
